Nestled among forests, mountains, and waterfalls near Rishikesh, this exclusive Yoga Alliance certified training welcomes only 15 students for a profound journey of physical detox, mental clarity, and spiritual transformation.
There is a particular kind of silence that exists only in a Himalayan forest at dawn — before the world wakes up, before thought catches up with breath, when the only sound is a bird calling somewhere in the canopy above you. Tratak Yoga Academy built this 22-day training around that exact moment, and around what happens to a person who is allowed to sit inside it, undisturbed, for over three weeks.
This is not a generic yoga teacher training repackaged with a forest photo. It is a deliberately small, deliberately slow, deliberately quiet 200-hour program designed for people who feel — somewhere underneath the noise of ordinary life — that they are ready for something real.
Most 200-hour yoga teacher trainings are built for volume: large batches, packed schedules, a city backdrop, and a certificate at the end. The Silent Forest Yoga Teacher Training was built for the opposite reason.
We capped enrollment at 15 students because real transformation needs space — physical space in the practice hall, and inner space in the mind. We chose a forest location outside the main Rishikesh tourist corridor because silence is not something you can talk your way into; it has to be lived in, day after day, until it stops feeling unfamiliar.
The training opens gently, with the sound of birds at first light, and closes in a deliberate, held silence — a structural mirror of what the 22 days themselves are meant to do: strip away noise, layer by layer, until something quieter and truer is left standing.
This program is best suited to:
In the spirit of honest communication, this is not the right fit if you’re looking for a fast-paced, highly social, party-adjacent yoga holiday, or if you’re not ready to observe periods of structured silence and limited phone use. We say this upfront because EEAT — and simple respect for your time — means setting accurate expectations, not just selling seats.

The 200-hour Silent Forest Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh makes you an entry-level yoga instructor at Tratak Yoga Academy. We provide a complete curriculum that covers all the modules from the basics.
Pranayama is the expansion and regulation of breath. In our yoga teacher training course, we provide a complete understanding and practice of various pranayama techniques. Pranayama techniques help to reduce stress, anxiety, and fat, enhance blood circulation, and improve mental clarity and concentration for people who perform them regularly in the right way.
Shatkarma is a classical purification technique used in yoga. There are five types of yogic cleaning practices that you will learn in our 100-hour yoga TTC program. It helps to clean the body and prepare you for higher practices like pranayama and meditation. In addition, it also helps to balance the body’s doshas and bring a deeper breath, work, and spiritual practice in the body.
It is one of the most dynamic and structured forms of classical Indian Yoga. It was introduced by K. Pattabhi Jois. It helps to emphasise the integration of breath, movement, and focused awareness. It is an energetic and disciplined practice that helps to sync your breath with a series of postures to detox the body and bring mental clarity.
A traditional system of physical practice to bring purity, strength, and prepare the body for higher levels of yoga. Hatha Yoga emphasises the practice of asanas combined with breath control and mindful alignment. It brings a lot of benefits, and there is a wide range of classical asanas included in Hatha Yoga.
We combine traditional Ayurveda with our yoga teacher training courses. It is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems from India. It helps to bring overall well-being by balancing the harmony between mind, body, and soul. By understanding Ayurveda philosophy and principles, students gain deeper insight into their own constitution and overall well-being. Incorporating Ayurvedic practices in yoga can help to improve vitality, balance, and long-term health.
Meditation is a mental practice of focusing your attention and awareness to achieve calm, emotional stability, and mental clarity. Constant practice of meditation brings mental stability, emotional balance, and a sense of calmness. It helps to move forward to a higher state of consciousness and self-realisation. Meditation looks easy, but you need a meditation technique to deepen your experience. There are so many types of meditation in our 100-hour YTTC course.
This module covers the traditional philosophy, concepts, and history of yoga, aligned with insights from modern research. It helps to understand yoga as a holistic way of life and brings it into a contemporary lifestyle. You will learn the true purpose of yoga beyond just physical poses – after all, it is a holistic way of life.
In our 100-hour YTTC program, we also provide teaching skills to practitioners through practical sessions so they can instruct their students correctly. We focus on building confidence, communication skills, and the ability to guide others effectively through teaching practice. It will help you prepare to teach with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
Teaching Practice – Core Components
A good yoga teacher is not just a skilled practitioner. It is someone who can plan, communicate, and create a supportive learning environment. In this module, you will learn how to apply practical teaching methodology to deliver a well-structured, safe, and transformative yoga class.
Mudra is a powerful yogic gesture performed by the hands. It is also known as a divine gesture because it influences the flow of energy within the body. Mudras have been practised for years to balance the mind, vitality, and support overall physical and mental well-being. There are so many types of Mudra, and each Mudra works by activating specific energy channels within the body.
Mantra chanting is a meditative practice that involves the rhythmic and continuous repetition of certain words or sounds. It is a yogic practice that uses sacred sound and vibration to calm the mind and create a deep connection with the universe. There are so many mantras that help to transform your inner strength and bring peace, clarity, and harmony in the body.

Across your 22 days, the rhythm of daily practice is punctuated by experiences designed to connect you to the land, the tradition, and each other:

This training is designed not only to prepare you to teach yoga, but to deepen your own personal practice and understanding of yogic living. Through disciplined practice, self-inquiry, community living, and traditional teachings, you are invited to experience yoga as a way of life — not simply a physical practice you perform on a mat for an hour and then set aside.
Twenty-two days is long enough to feel uncomfortable, long enough to move through that discomfort, and long enough to come out the other side genuinely changed. That arc — discomfort, integration, transformation — is the actual curriculum, even though it never appears on a syllabus.
Tratak Yoga Academy is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance USA. Graduates of this 200-hour Silent Forest program are eligible to register directly as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), a credential recognised by studios, retreat centres, and wellness employers across the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, and beyond.

Tratak Yoga Academy operates physical campuses in Rishikesh, Pokhara, and Bali, alongside a comprehensive online school. Our Rishikesh forest campus draws on decades of accumulated teaching experience in classical Himalayan yoga, Pranayama, and traditional philosophy — not a templated curriculum imported from elsewhere.
Most teacher trainings advertise “personal attention” while running batches of 30, 40, or more. We cap this training at 15 students because we mean what we say. You will be known by name, your practice will be observed closely, and your questions will get real answers — not a queue.
Every aspect of this training — asana, philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology — is led by senior teachers with significant teaching hours behind them, not assistants reading from a manual.
Tratak Yoga Academy is a Yoga Alliance USA-accredited yoga school with campuses in Rishikesh (India), Pokhara (Nepal), and Bali (Indonesia), along with a comprehensive online training program. Rooted in classical Himalayan yoga, our trainings blend authentic ancient practice with internationally recognised teaching standards.

This training is best suited to practitioners with at least 6–12 months of consistent personal yoga practice. While it is a 200-hour foundational teacher training and does not require prior teaching experience, the physical intensity of two daily asana sessions and the depth of the silence-based format are easier to integrate with some existing practice behind you. If you’re entirely new to yoga, we recommend building a regular home practice first, or speaking with our admissions team about preparation.
No, the training is not a continuous silent retreat. Structured silence is built into specific parts of each day, particularly the evening hours (8:00–9:00 PM) and dawn meditation period, along with periods during the program reserved for deeper, extended silence. The intention is to create regular, repeated immersion in stillness throughout the 22 days, not to remove speech entirely from your experience.
Yes. The Silent Forest Yoga Teacher Training is a full 200-hour program delivered by Tratak Yoga Academy, a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance USA. Upon successful completion, including the teaching assessment and final practicum, graduates are eligible to register as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance.
We intentionally limit enrollment to ensure every student receives close, personal attention from faculty during asana practice, teaching methodology sessions, and one-on-one guidance. A smaller group also supports the deeper community and silence-based elements of the program, which are far harder to sustain in a large batch.
The training includes the full 200-hour curriculum, training materials (manual, journal, training bag, and uniform t-shirt), accommodation, sattvic vegetarian meals and herbal teas, one Ayurvedic massage session, all weekly excursions and ceremonies (including the Neelkanth Temple trip, sunrise trek and Hawan, and Ganga Aarti), final assessment, graduation ceremony, and your Yoga Alliance-recognised certificate. Contact our admissions team for the current detailed fee breakdown.
The training takes place at Tratak Yoga Academy’s forest retreat campus near Rishikesh, Uttarakhand — set among forests, mountains, and waterfalls, away from the busier central Rishikesh tourist area, to support the program’s emphasis on quiet and immersion.
Many students choose to extend their time in Rishikesh or transition into our 300-hour advanced training or specialty programs such as Sound Healing certification. Speak with our admissions team about combining programs or extending your stay before or after the 22-day training.
We recommend comfortable yoga and casual clothing suited to a forest climate, a journal (though one is provided), personal toiletries, any personal medication, a reusable water bottle, and minimal electronics given the program’s emphasis on digital detox during designated hours. A full preparation checklist is sent to all enrolled students before arrival.
The core 200-hour Yoga Alliance curriculum is consistent with our other programs, but the Silent Forest training differs in format: a smaller 15-student cap, a secluded forest campus rather than a central location, an extended 22-day format, and structural emphasis on silence, sound healing, and Himalayan ritual experiences like Ganga Aarti and the Neelkanth Temple excursion.
Because enrollment is limited to 15 students per batch, this training fills well in advance of each start date. Reach out to our admissions team at jai.tratak@gmail.com or through our Instagram @tratakyoga to check current availability and begin your application.
We are one of the top most reputed yoga schools in Rishikesh, India and Pokhara, Nepal. The moto of our school is to spread Traditional and authentic yoga teacher training courses.
